Behind this design lies a piece of Tupuai—its history and its memory. 🌺
🐙 The octopus symbolizes unity and the bonds connecting the islands of the Austral archipelago (TUHAA PAE) : Tupuai, Rurutu, Rimatara, Raivavae, Rapa and the Maria Islands.
🌺 Blooming around it is the Scadoxus, our “fire lily.” With its bright red flowers resembling tiny fireworks, it recalls a plant that once grew abundantly on Tupuai but is becoming increasingly rare today.
Through this design, the Scadoxus becomes a symbol of remembrance and preservation: remembering what once blossomed on our land, protecting what remains and passing this precious heritage on to future generations.
A design to wear as a connection between our islands, our land and our shared memory. 🌺
